First responders carry what most people never see.
They step into crisis, trauma, and loss as part of their calling — often without the space, time, or support to process the cost it takes on their mental health, their families, or their faith.
Day1Week1 was created in response to that reality.
Billy Bowering, the founder of Day1Week1, understands this cost personally. His leadership is grounded in firsthand experience with the pressures, trauma, and emotional toll carried by those who serve — and by the families who carry it with them. Through his own journey, faith, and near-breaking moments, Billy recognized the gap between crisis and care that so many responders fall into.
Day1Week1 was established to close that gap with structure, accountability, and compassion — ensuring support is not reactive or temporary, but steady, dignified, and grounded in faith.

Mission Clarity
Day1Week1 is not a moment-based initiative.
We provide structured support across mental health care, family restoration, financial assistance, and chaplaincy services — responding when the weight of service becomes personal and ongoing.
That kind of work requires readiness, consistency, and long-term support.
Support for this mission can be offered in two ways:
A one-time contribution, which helps meet immediate and urgent needs
A monthly commitment, which allows Day1Week1 to remain prepared and responsive over time
Both are respected. Monthly support simply enables continuity.
There is no expectation beyond what you are able and willing to give.
